Who Knew There Were So Many Artists in the Lioness Club?

Our Lioness Club wreath-making workshop at Gobbler Hill Farm in Elkwood last week was absolutely delightful and truly brought the magic of the season to life.

Our gracious hostess, Susan, along with her husband, welcomed us warmly and shared wonderful tips as we worked. They provided an amazing selection of fresh cuttings from a variety of trees and plants, and Susan even crafted beautiful bows to finish off our wreaths. Snacks, drinks, and plenty of thoughtful extras made the experience even more special.

We laughed, created, and enjoyed every minute. It was a wonderful time together!  Thank you to our Directors Caroline Collantes, Clare Donohoe and Emily Florence for organizing this wonderful event!

Winter Coat & Clothing Drive

This year’s Winter Coat and Clothing Drive was a tremendous success! Our ongoing collaboration with the Lions Club continues to strengthen the friendly partnership between our clubs, and together we truly made a difference.

The community’s generosity was incredible this year—We collected from the donations boxes every week for six weeks and each week they were overflowing with clothing.

Sorting all the clothing donated was a breeze with our Lioness and Lions teams working together quickly and efficiently – we finished in about 45 minutes!

On the Distribution Day at the Food Pantry our Lioness Team arrived bright and early to help the Lions set up.  As personal shoppers for the clients, we brought joy and dignity to the experience. One adorable little girl fell in love with a jacket and refused to take it off—that kind of moment reminds us why this service matters so much.

According to Lion Cathy Hix, we provided warm coats and accessories to 124 individuals.  That number doesn’t even include those who will benefit from the additional donations delivered to local schools, Blessings Boutique Thrift Store, SAFE House, and Goodwill.

The Sorting Team: Teresa Wisniewski, Marian Rood, Donna Morrissey, Emily Florence, Claire Donohoe, Lynne Kovach.  The Distribution Team: Lynne Kovach, Emily Florence, Val Protiva, Norinne Baylis, Deborah Raines.  The Collection Team (Not Pictured): Colleen Cameron, Cheryl Murray, Emily Florence, Julie Phend.
