Mardi Gras Dinner Dance

The Annual Lioness Club’s Mardi Gras Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 9th, at Lake of the Woods Clubhouse. The festive evening begins with a cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00. The Reunion Band will play from 8:00-11:00 p.m. for your dancing and listening enjoyment. Dress is semi-formal, with Mardi Gras masks optional, (but so much fun).

 Passed Appetizers

  • Cajun Crab Stuffed Mushroom
  • Spanakopita
  • Andouille Sausage in Phyllo Cups
  • Cheese/Fruit Vegie selection on table

 Dinner

  • Mardi Gras Salad – a mix of baby spinach and romaine with carrot, red onion, mandarin orange, and bacon served with Blueberry Pomegranate dressing.
  • Corn bread and butter

with a choice of the following Entrées

  •   Chicken Jambalaya
  •   Shrimp and Grits (no andouille sausage)
  •   Beef Medallions
  •   Vegan Gumbo with Beyond Sausage & Rice

Dessert

  •   Bourbon Bread Pudding

There will be a silent auction and raffles to raise money for the Lioness Foundation, which supports local causes including Wilderness Food Pantry, Orange County Animal Shelter, Living Waters Free Health Clinic, Piedmont Dental Clinic, LOW Fire and Rescue, SAFE House, and scholarships to local students, as well as the Lions Hearing Foundation, Sight Foundation, and others.

The 2023 White House Christmas Ornaments

The Lioness Lions Club is selling the 2023 White House Ornaments for $25.00 each. ($8.00 CHEAPER than some local shops!)

This year, the Official White House Christmas Ornament is a festive holiday wreath, adorned on the front with decorations inspired by the handcrafted Christmas ornaments used in the White House during the Gerald R. Ford Jr., administration. Dozens of dolls, cherubs, doves, stars, flowers, gingerbread men, candles, and pentagon balls, in bright, cheery colors are featured with red ribbons at the bottom bearing the words “Christmas 2023” and “The White House.”
